Myrtle Beach Bike Week-another great year!!  The views from our condo were spectacular.  We had a relaxing lunch in Little River. Having fresh fish caught that day made it even better.  Watching the sun rise reminded us of the simple things and how good life can be.  Here I am with my best friend Frank.

Views from a castle in Sicily offer protection

Erice is one of Sicily's most delightful towns, situated in an incomparable position on top of a mountain and offering stunning 360-degree panoramas of most of western Sicily, the sea and the Egadi Islands. Arguably the best views are from the 12th century Norman castle, Il Castello di Venere, so called thanks to its having been built on the site of an ancient Temple of Venus.

 

 

 

Greek Ampitheater

Here we stood on the shoulders of time. We wondered about the people who once walked in this area and what their lives were like.  The theater overlooks the beautiful Mediterranean.  What a spot to see a show even nearly 3000 years ago!!

Mt Etna Sicily - A Different World

Although these are actually color photos, the landscape of Mt Etna is like a different world. We were above the white cloud line and with the wind swept black ash fields, it  made  you feel like you were on the moon.
