Dangers are worth the Views

Open range and Bighorn sheep crossing signs are fairly common in and around the canyon lands.

In some counties, Open Range means that cows have the right of way, and are free to wander at will across the road. Open range cattle tend to be beef cows who are let loose to graze on private lands or BLM land. These cows wander up and around where ever the grass is growing, and are sometimes stupid enough to stand in the middle of the road where there is no grass, but a heck of a great view.

Bighorn sheep frequent the hills surrounding Arches National Park, and the road through the park winds around mesa tops and formations with blind curves. Be prepared...be cautious. This sign is on Arches Entrence Road, just past the visitor's center.
