New York - Staten Island, Verrazano Bridge and FDR boardwalk

During one of our visits to NYC, we were surprised to find this gem in Staten Island.  These are pictures of the South Beach and FDR Boardwalk.  The boardwalk is 2 1/2 miles long and is the fourth largest in the world.  The beach is on the Atlantic Ocean and fairly large and very clean.  Along the boardwalk, people can take a nice stroll, ride bikes and fish.  There are some street entertainers as well.  In the background, you can see the Verrazano Bridge which connects Staten Island and Brooklyn.  The bridge is the longest suspension bridge in America.  This is also the location of one of the scenes from the Kate Hudson movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days."  It is a beautiful, peaceful location and definitely worth checking out.

Harley-Davidson ------ Red, White & Blue

Owning an American made Harley-Davidson is patriotic in itself, however some take it to the next level. I took these photos as we were killing some time at Liberty Harley-Davidson in Rahway N.J. These bikes were fitting to see as we were on our way to celebrate Veterans Day in Washington D.C.

Korean War Memorial Washington D.C.

These pictures of the Korean Memorial were taken while attending the Rolling Thunder Rally. I found this memorial to be haunting. These soldiers who are on patrol have facial expressions as if they are scared, lost and determined. The last picture is at the end of the triangle and it says what is true.
